What is the reduction of the labia majora?

So what exactly is reduced (or labiaplasty)? Labia Reduction is a procedure in plastic surgery of the labia majora and labia minora, both external folds of skin surrounding the vulva. Labia Reduction involves the reduction of an elongated labium and is usually part of a vaginoplasty.

Besides reducing the size of the lips, a reduction can also be done to repair the labia after the accident, maternity or sickness. You can also hoodectomyexecuted at the same time. This is the clitoris in an effort to increase sexual stimulation.

In the past, surgeons performed labium reduction along straight over the amputation of the projection and then suturing the edges. This method has had its problems, and surgeons now use lasers with a refined technique.

Labia reduction is effected while the patient is under local anesthesia and it is an outpatient procedure. After surgery, the patient may experience someSwelling and mild discomfort, but these two are usually gone after one or two weeks. Recovery time of a reduction in general, ranges from three days to a couple of weeks.

As with any surgery, there are some risks associated with downsizing. In about five to seven cases out of 100, additional treatment is required.

In recent years, downsizing is becoming increasingly popular. Most of the patients required reduction of functional orfor aesthetic reasons, and many complain that stretched lips causes pain during exercise, sexual intercourse or during prolonged sitting.

If you are interested in a reduction, it is recommended that the search for a plastic surgeon in your area and meet with them for a consultation. Not everyone is a good candidate for this procedure, and it is important that before you do your work done with this (or any other procedure).
